... The Flood Advisory for minor flooding in poor drainage areas
remains in effect until 430 am EDT for New Castle... northwestern
Kent... Kent... Cecil... Queen Anne's... Camden... Gloucester... Salem...
northwestern Burlington... northwestern Cumberland... Delaware...
southeastern Montgomery... Philadelphia and southeastern Chester
counties...

At 1152 PM EDT... Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
clusters of torrential rain departing marylands Eastern Shore for
central and northern Delaware and to probably pass through
southwest New Jersey and the Philadelphia area by 130 am.

Isolated rainfall rates of 4 inches per hour were occurring embedded
in the general rain area, at times accompanied by thunder.

While the rain may let up or quit for a time in eastern Maryland,
radar at 1150 PM showed more heavy showers moving northeast from
Virginia.

The periodic heavy showers will cause minor flooding. Overflowing
poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in the advisory
area. There were many reports of one to 1.3 inches so far in the
advisory area.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Philadelphia... Camden... Wilmington... Newark... Middletown... West Chester...
Elkton... Gloucester City... Centerville... Calvert... Evesham... Mount Laurel...
Norristown... Willingboro... Deptford... Voorhees... Medford... West Deptford...
Glassboro and Lindenwold.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated... or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
