Tuesday afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a coastal
Flood Advisory. It is in effect from 500 am Monday until 400 am
Tuesday. Also, a coastal Flood Watch has been issued. The coastal
Flood Watch is in effect from late Monday night through Tuesday
afternoon.

* Location... coastal areas of New Jersey and Delaware and areas
along Delaware Bay.

* Coastal flooding... widespread minor coastal flooding is
anticipated to develop on Monday morning with localized moderate
flooding possible at that time. Minor coastal flooding is
expected to linger through Monday evening's high tide and into
Monday night. There is the potential for widespread moderate
coastal flooding on Tuesday morning.

* Timing... the times of high tide along the New Jersey and
Delaware oceanfront are around 630 am to 730 am on Monday
morning, around 700 PM to 800 PM on Monday evening, and around
730 am to 830 am on Tuesday morning. High tide on the back
bays, along Delaware Bay and along Raritan Bay occurs later than
the high tide on the oceanfront.

* Waves... wave heights are forecast to build to 8 to 12 feet on
the near-shore waters off Delaware and New Jersey. Waves on
Delaware Bay are expected to build to 3 to 5 feet.

* Impacts... roadway flooding is expected from Monday morning into
Monday night, especially around the times of high tide.
Widespread Road flooding and some damage to vulnerable
structures is possible on Tuesday morning. Wave action will
likely result in significant beach erosion.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

This coastal Flood Watch means that conditions favorable for the
development of moderate tidal flooding.

Be prepared to begin taking appropriate action to protect life
and property. Follow the recommendations of local emergency
management officials. Be sure to check the latest forecast from
time to time in case a warning is issued or any new information
becomes available.
