... Wind Advisory now in effect from 9 PM this evening to 11 am PDT
Thursday...

The Wind Advisory is now in effect from 9 PM this evening to 11 am
PDT Thursday for the western Mojave Desert.

* Winds: west to northwest at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph.

* Timing: winds will increase in the evening and become
strongest between 10 PM tonight and 6 am Thursday.

* Locations: Morongo Valley... Yucca Valley... Twentynine Palms...
Barstow... Daggett... Fort Irwin

* impacts: the strong winds will make driving difficult
especially for motorcycles and high profile vehicles. Areas
of blowing dust and sand may reduce visibility on area roads
at times especially near and downwind of Dry Lake beds.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that Crosswinds are expected to be strong
enough to make driving difficult... especially for high profile
vehicles. In addition... strong winds over desert areas could result
in briefly lowered visibilities to well under a mile at times in
blowing dust or blowing sand. Use extra caution.
